Every person, in every country in every continent will be impacted in some shape or form by climate change. There is a climate cataclysm looming, and we are underprepared for what this could mean. Climate change is caused by human activities and threatens life on earth as we know it. With rising greenhouse gas emissions, climate change is occurring at rates much faster than anticipated. Its impacts can be devastating and include extreme and changing weather patterns and rising sea levels.
Aligned with the above-mentioned UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 ‘Combat Climate Change and its Impacts’, ‘BN Upvan’ is an initiative by BN Welfare Foundation as an Immediate measure to avoid catastrophic consequences and secure a sustainable future for generations to come.
BNWF has adopted three sites for plantation and conservation of trees in Agra and Mathura on World Environment Day 2024 with the theme “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration. The theme focuses on land restoration, combating desertification, and improving drought resilience. BNWF undertook land restoration measures with appropriate soil treatment to plant and conserve trees in these three locations. To promote bio-diversity, we ensured the inclusion of native plants in the plantation.
Honoring the pledge taken by BN Welfare Foundation of planting 50000 trees, BN Upvan is a proud testament to our commitment for the sustainable and greener future. Our dedicated team is tirelessly working to water, nurture, and monitor each tree, making sure they flourish and contribute to a healthier environment. This initiative is not just about planting trees; it’s about planting hope for future generations.
